My Background & Experience
A school teacher since 1964, in the mid-1980″s, I found myself an advocate for creating an emotionally-safe environment in a middle school setting. Drawn more and more to helping others, I attended Rutgers University Graduate School of Social Work, earning an MSW degree, in 1992. I continued teaching until retirement, in December, 1999. From 1992 until 2004, I worked 3 afternoons a week as a therapist with Center For Behavioral Health Services, Brick, NJ. In 2004, I created Holly C. Gaul, LLC, and moved into my present location in Brook Park, Route 35, Sea Girt, NJ.
In 2001, shortly after the events of 9/11, I felt guided to learn more about trauma treatment, specifically Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I was introduced to a new therapy treatment program, AIT (Advanced Integrative Therapy, formerly known as Seemorg Matrix Work) that combined traditional Jungian therapy with new, advanced techniques using energy centers of the body to help release emotions connected to trauma. I’ve worked successfully using AIT since 2002. I find it helps my clients feel symptom relief faster and more thoroughly as an addition to cognitive therapy. I’ve been in the AIT Teacher-In-Training program since 2005, and hope to bring workshops soon to the Jersey Shore for interested therapists.
Since 1992 I’ve helped a wide range of clients work on and overcome their individual challenges. You can learn more about the therapy services I offer and the types of therapy clients I serve on the rest of my website.
